Up Dated Sickness Policy including Covid 19

Pease contact me if unsure if your child can attend care prior to coming to my home. Dosing a child with medication and sending to care puts every family at risk of infection and requiring Covid 19 testing, staying out of care for 14 days or losing care due to home childcare being forced to close for 14 days. I have the right to refuse to provide care to any child showing symptoms listed below. If your child develops these symptoms while in care, you will be required to make arrangements for your child to be picked up immediately.

Parents and Guardians agree to asses their child daily prior to care for a change in behaviour or appearance, or for some sign that may indicate illness. Common symptoms of Covid 19 are If a child’s temperature is equal or greater than 38 degrees Celsius (100.4F) (take your child's temperature at home and report it at drop off. Parents/Guardians who are unable to do this at home must wait at drop of until the provider takes the child's temperature and is cleared to attend care for the day. ) or if the child/children have any signs or symptoms of respiratory infection, such as cough (dry or productive), loss of appetite, chills, nasal congestion/ runny nose (In absence of underlying reason for these symptoms such as seasonal allergies, post nasal drip), headache, feeling unwell/fatigue, sore muscles, sneezing, sore throat/hoarseness, wheezing, shortness of breath/difficulty breathing, diarrhea, vomiting they must stay home from daycare. Notify the provider of the symptoms so she can notify other families so they can monitor their children for symptoms. Parents are to contact the health unit/Dr of concerns re illness for further directions of assessment. Children can return to care on recommendation of Health Unit/ Dr or after a negative Covid 19 test.
